Notorious Eliza is a perfect short read with compelling characters and a most unusual story line. I love, love, love that the heroine paints nudes. The romance is well-developed, the setting vivid and the ending satisfying. An engaging story all the way around. Kudos to the Ms. Monajem!
I thought this a delightful read. I love the Regency period, and this one filled the bill. It was short, but it didn't need more length. The author told the story and finished when it was done. I liked both the characters and the plot was something new. Very satisfying read. I'll be reading more of this author's work.
Even though Eliza Dauntry dresses in unattractive clothes while she's working, she still finds it difficult to convince her clients that she's no light skirt. Perhaps because the widow supports her son by painting nudes for a living.
Patrick Felham is in the market for a wife. He wants someone upstanding who would be an excellent example for his daughter. So why is he attracted to the woman with the notorious reputation?
Notorious Eliza was a satisfying and enjoyable story. The characters were well developed and likeable. I always enjoy a story where the hero has a pre-conceived notion of the heroine that she is able to dismantle by the end of the tale. Good job.
In this Regency novella, Eliza has carved out an interesting career for herself. She is an artist. But, she paints portraits of men's mistresses and courtesans. She has done a fine job of dodging these scoundrels advances. But they just can't seem to understand that the nude women do nothing for her and she is far from accepting the same position for herself. The hero has a lot to overcome, and the author does an excellent job of showing us how he does just that. This story is well told for as short as it is. Worth the buy.
